A Personal Path to Professional Healing
I completed my graduate degree at UNC Charlotte and have been working in mental health treatment ever since. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and life changes. I love working with all ages and genders but specialize in working with women in transitional times (graduation, new adulthood, adjusting to family changes). I will work along side you to create a deeper connection with yourself, allowing your truest self to guide decisions and initiate the change in your life you are seeking. This may look like upholding boundaries with others, meeting yourself with kindness on your toughest days, or empowering yourself to take a leap of faith.
To do this, I enjoy using self compassion and Internal Family Systems informed techniques in therapy. This means I help you understand all of your "parts" so emotions don't feel so overwhelming and jumbled up- kind of like a meet and greet with all versions of you. We then can meet the parts of you with compassion when you are ready, with no rush.
Sessions can range from learning new skills, to venting, to processing deep rooted core beliefs. Sometimes we can dive deep, and sometimes I can just be a listening ear. It is your session, and I will follow your lead.
I believe authenticity in session is necessary to feel comfortable enough to grow. I also know trust with a therapist, or anyone, is earned and not a given. I aim to create a comfortable and inviting space where you can land as you are.
