Who I am professionally

At Willow Counseling and Wellness, I am committed to creating a compassionate and comfortable environment where the real work of healing can begin. My approach to therapy is a blend of relaxed, human connection and rigorous, evidence-based practice.

With four years of practice and specific training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I specialize in helping women navigate anxiety, depression, and the aftermath of life-altering events. I also hold a deep specialty in ADHD; drawing from both professional training and my own lived experience as a woman with ADHD, I provide a validating space to explore neurodivergence.

I believe in addressing the root causes of distress, not just managing symptoms. I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapy to help you understand and harmonize the conflicting internal "parts" that drive your behaviors. Furthermore, I use EMDR therapy to help your brain process and heal from stuck, distressing memories that may be impacting your present-day life. My goal is to help you release old patterns and limiting beliefs so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Who I am as a human

I believe a large piece of the therapeutic healing is connection, which is why I’ve included this bit about myself in addition to my clinical bio.

I graduated from UNC Charlotte with undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology, and went on to complete my Masters of Social Work at UNC Charlotte as well.

I am a chronic hobby hopper- I’ve created and sold “flow art” style pieces through the pandemic, own way too many houseplants, and am currently into interior decorating, antiquing, and refinishing furniture. I find that using my hands to create something and enjoying the tangible outcome is quite therapeutic in itself.

Although I’m not offering in person appointments at this time, you may see my dog, Ellie, during appointments from time to time. She mostly sleeps during sessions, so you may just hear some gentle snoring.

I am no stranger to being on the other side of therapy, as that’s what inspired my career path to begin with. This is one of my greatest strengths as a clinician. It allows me to have insight into both sides of the process, allowing for deeper understanding and a more perceptive clinical point of view.
