Who I am professionally
My approach to therapy is a blend of relaxed, human connection and rigorous, evidence-based practice.
With four years of practice and specific training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, depression, and the aftermath of life-altering events. I also hold a deep specialty in ADHD; drawing from both professional training and my own lived experience as a woman with ADHD, I provide an understanding space to explore neurodivergence.
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapy to help you get to know your internal "parts" that drive behaviors and emotions (ever felt like you had no idea why or where a reaction came from?)
I use EMDR to help your brain process and heal from stuck, distressing memories or experiences that those “parts” hold on to (the story perpetuating the reaction described above) When we first understand the story, then we can more effectively change the story, leading to a sense of freedom from what has defined your experience for so long.
Some describe this sense of freedom as something they never thought possible. With dedication to the therapy process and the right tools, I will help you change your own story.
Who I am as a human
I believe a large piece of the therapeutic healing is authentic connection, I think it’s important to share a little bit about the human sitting across the screen from you.
Just like anyone else, I have many different 'parts' that make up who I am. I have a part of me that is incredibly passionate about learning, psychology, and helping people heal. And I also have a part of me that loves turning my thinking brain off and zoning out in my garden digging in the dirt or having lizard time in the sun. No thoughts just warmth.
I am deeply committed to doing my own work, finding joy in the little things, and creating a safe, open space for you to do the same
Although I’m not offering in person appointments at this time, you may see my dog, Ellie, during appointments from time to time. She mostly sleeps during sessions, so you may hear some quiet snoring.
